McCord Air Expo 2008

On Saturday July 19th, we ventured over to McCord Air Force base to see the air show. Getting there was a pain. We sat in traffic for an hour, then once we parked we waited in line for a while, and then once we were inside we had to wait for Doug's dad who was right behind us. We also met up with Jerry and Carissa.

We had a great day! Josephine did awsome for having to be couped up in the car for so long, and stroller most of the day. Josephine LOVES airplanes! Once the demostrations got started she was easily entertained.

B-2 Bomber. You definately could not hear it coming!

The airshow demonstrations were great, but the best one was the Thunderbirds! The show started at 3:30pm, which made for a long day.

Overall the day was excellent. It was a little warm, and we did a lot of walking. The worst part of the air show was trying to leave. There was 150,000 people there, and they were all trying to get out through the main gate. About an hour after the show was over, they finally opened the north gate (near where we were parked) and we were able to get out after about another 45 minutes of waiting.

This show was incredible. I'll have to post more pics from the Tora, Tora, Tora demonstration and a few others from the Thunderbirds. It was a perfect day for an airshow we haven't seen in a few years.
